July 23 2008

Hi All,

Tthe Cruise this past weekend to the Norwalk Islands / Sheffield Island Lighthouse was a success. This Cruise was well attended by 13 boats, Anniversary, Breezin, Celer, Charisma, Fair Winds, Fools Paradise, Full Circle, Harp, Lu Sea's Day, Obsession, Radical 2, Ramboat, and Zara. Thanks to all who attended to help keep the MSSA Cruising program strong. A big thanks to George Sintchak S/V Anniversary for being the Cruise Captain a second year in a row for this well attended Cruise. The Cruise to Norwalk started at 9:30 am with a light breeze about 5 knots building to 14 to16 knots crossing the sound for a great Sail. All Cruisers who attended enjoyed a Cruisers party on land at picnic tables which was heavily shaded by the trees on Sheffield Island. A Lighthouse tour was available to all.

Next Month, the Hamburg Cove Cruise.

This Cruise is a 2 night stay starting on friday August 8. The Cruise to Hamburg Cove should take about 8 - 9 hours depending on weather, tides, sailing or motoring. Check the yearbook for details. I will be your Cruise Captain for this Cruise so if you have any questions please call me at 631-698-5940. Lonnie Cardinuto, S/V Celer MSSA Fleet Captain
