Left MS harbor ~9:45AM Saturday with clearing skies and 10-15+ knot winds from the West. The following seas off my rear Port quarter made for the typical roll & pitch motion that would make anyone seasick. Even the autopilot didn't like it! Arrived at the Old Saybrook lighthouse/CT river at 3:30 PM in record time under 6 hours as I was surfing along at 7+ knots most of the time using just the 150 Genoa like a spinnaker. I didn't want to chance setting my whisker poll in the rough conditions. It was a relief to just motor up the river to Essex with the incoming tide/current sweeping me along, my arms were tired/hurting from steering. I will detail more of the trip in my next newsletter article. Overnighted in Hamburg cove. Sunday, motored up the river about 25 miles, took a lot of pictures , and returned to Essex by 4:30 PM to beat the darkness back into Hamburg cove. Monday, AM left for home.
