Meeting was held March 5, 2007 - Hot items included security staffing, new docks, dredge spoils, dinghy docks and pump out barge.

Bill Trainor, Lonnie Cardinuto and Tom Brischler attended the Mount Sinai Harbor Advisory Committee meeting on March 5.  High on the list of items was the poor security at the harbor caused primarily by the lack of staff and equipment.  In short, more money needs to be allocated in the Town budget for the public safety.

At the committee's recommendation, the new pump out barge will not be placed in the harbor until all the moorings are in place in the spring and we can see where it will fit and where it may be of best use.

All the dredge spoils that are currently on the west end of the beach will be spread out along the entire length of the beach by April 1.

New floats have been built over the winter and will be used to replace some of the most dilapidated docks at the harbor.  Also, some of the new floats will be used for dingy docks, space for which will be allocated by lottery.  All mooring permit holders will be receive a letter by April 1 to enter their names in the dingy lottery, according to Bill Shilling, Deputy Comm. of Parks.

Access for bringing dingies up and down from the dingy racks will be improved.  The yellow, abrasive grids which have been waiting to be installed will finally be installed in the dingy access areas.

The Mount Sinai Harbor Cleanup will take place on April 21, rain or shine.    Bring your friends and family.  Meet at the Mount Sinai Yacht Club to get your clean up gloves, etc. and to have breakfast or lunch provided by local mechants and the Town.
