ImageI was down chipping some ice at the Beneteau yesterday in an effort to make my way below to see how some speakers were going to fit in the saloon. Discretion and valor contended and the former won out as I said out loud, "What are you crazy?" This and other projects will have to wait until at least a minor thaw comes our way.

In an homage to Ralph Waldo Emerson, the new name for "Wired" will officially be "Fool's Paradise." I read somewhere a few years back about an involved decommissioning and renaming ceremony which we'll have to dig out of one of the Microsoft Word folders again. Either that or I hear you can just invoke Popeye with a beer in your hand and proclaim the vessel newly named. At any rate, we'll be needing some tips on removing paint from gel coat as the original owner used some fancy, hand drawn paint procedure on the transom.

Been driving by the harbor daily to see the migration of the ice flow that's taken over the eastern end. Two sail boats that had been stuck in the ice mysteriously disappeared one night and I can't see them beached anywhere. Guess Old Man Winter just gobbled them up. The lobster boats had free access in and out of the harbor for a while but yesterday, they were solidly frozen in place. Summer is sure grand but there's also incredible beauty in this frozen place. Like you though, I am counting the days to moderating temps.

Janine, Ted, Joanie and I are leaving for a cruise on a really big boat in a few hours so I'll sign off here. Hope you all are keeping warm and just plain staying inside or enjoying the ski slopes, whatever your persuasion. See you all at the Swap and Shop at our March meeting and remember to get there early for the best finds!
