How To Use the MSSA Google Group Print E-mail

The MSSA Google Group is the primary method of communication for the club. If you are a member of the club and are not getting email messages from the Google Group then you are missing out on important information. Here are some Frequently Asked Questions.

What is the Google Group?

It is an email list and online bulletin board. Messages that are posted are emailed to everyone in the Group and added to the bulletin board website. Members can read messages either from their email account or going to the Google Group website (http://groups.google.com/group/mssa )

If you don't have your password you can get it by clicking the "Can't access your account" link and following the instructions.

How Do I Join the Google Group?

How Do I Send a Message to the Google Group?

There are two ways to post a message to the group. You can send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or you can login to the Google Groups website and click on "New Post".

I Used to Get Emails But They Stopped, Why?

Are you sure we have your correct email address? People change email addresses a lot because of a job change, a change in Internet service provider or mabe you changed from AOL email to Gmail and forgot to update us. The email address we have for you is in the MSSA Yearbook. If it is wrong then that's probably why.

Why Would I Want to Go to the Google Groups Website if I Already Get Email Messages?

The website holds a history of all the messages sent to the Group and is easily searched. You can update your email settings to get individual posts as they are sent or one daily email.

I Get Too Much Email, What Can I Do About It?

The number of messages posted to the group is small and are generally meeting notices, cruise news and race results, but sometimes a discussion topic can generate interest and a bunch of emails are generated in one day. If you want to reduce the number of emails to one per day you can change your membership settings to Digest Email which combines all posts togther and sends them to you at the end of the day.

How Should I Reply to Google Group Emails?

You should use Reply which will send the message only to the person who sent the post. Do not use Reply to All unless you want the entire membership reading your message.
