Mount Sinai Sailing Association - Sailing Long Island Sound Sailing

Welcome to the MSSA!

The Mount Sinai Sailing Association is a non-profit Long Island Sound Sailing organization dedicated to affordable family cruising, racing, and social interaction among sailing enthusiasts Long Island Sailingin the area of Mount Sinai Harbor, Long Island, NY. The Association was founded in 1975 and now includes more than one hundred and fifty families. Most members own sailboats which are moored or docked in Mount Sinai Harbor, but membership is open to anyone interested in sailing on the Long Island Sound, regardless of boat ownership. Yearly activities include raft-ups, beach parties, cruises, and races during the sailing season. There are also monthly meetings and social activities in the off season.

Paladin Finishes Annapolis to Newport Race
June 10 2009

Paladin (J35) crewed by Jason Richter and Bob Fisher raced in the Annapolis to Newport Race in the Double Handed Division. They took second place. Below is a picture of them at the start. More race pictures here and here . and the results are on the Annapolis Yacht Club racing web page .

Paladin Racing Again in Annapolis to Newport

Paladin (J35) crewed by Jason Richter and Bob Fisher are racing in Annapolis to Newport in the Double Handed Division.  You can track their progress against the other boats through the Annapolis Yacht Club website.  They started at 12:50pm and are currently in the upper Chesapeake heading south at 7.7knots in a 14 knot NNE wind.  They appear to be in second place.

Lets hope they do well.

Paladin Competes in Block Island Race
May 26 2009

The 186 nautical mile race, in its 64th running, began Friday afternoon, May 22, and sent Titan 12 and 54 other IRC- and PHRF-rated boats off on a course from Stamford, Conn., down Long Island Sound, clockwise around Block Island (R.I.), and back. A Southwest breeze of 8-10 knots got the boats off to a quick downwind start and stayed consistent until the fleet got to Plum Gut.
